Mike Mace

Michael is the Curator of Birds at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.

He received the United States Fish and Wildlife Service Endangered Species Recovery Champion Award for his contributions regarding the California condor and Light-footed Ridgeway’s rail.

He participates in other conservation projects involving endangered species such as Andean condor, Southern ground hornbill, White-bellied heron, North African ostrich, Thick-billed parrot and Guam rail. He has published articles in peer review journals and other publications.

Michael also serves as a spokesperson for San Diego Zoo Global.
