Laure Katz, MSc, MBA, Senior Director, Connected Oceans Program, Conservation International
Laure Katz is a marine scientist and conservation practitioner with over a decade of experience in Indonesia, the Galapagos Islands, the Pacific Line Islands, Africa, and California. Laure earned an interdisciplinary B.Sc. and M.Sc. in marine resource management from Stanford University and a global MBA from University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business. Currently serving as the Senior Director of Conservation International’s Connected Oceans Program, Laure works directly with communities, governments, and investors to improve ocean management around the world. Laure spent four years living in Indonesia and working as a key advisor for the Bird’s Head Seascape, in West Papua, Indonesia, a global model for community-driven co-management at the seascape scale, and is the key architect behind the Blue Abadi Fund, a dedicated conservation trust fund to ensure the Bird’s Head Seascape’s impact is enduring.
