Latif Boru is a Borana from Isiolo County. Growing up in Shaba and Buffalo Springs National Reserves almost certainly nurtured Latif’s interest in wildlife conservation, natural resource management and community engagement. He majored in Linguistics, media and Communication with a minor in Sociology at Moi University before joining Red Cross as a volunteer.
Latif joined the Northern Rangelands Trust in 2010 assisting in establishing and developing of community conservancies across Northern Kenya. Passionate about wildlife conservation, natural resource management and community engagement, Latif brings strong leadership and communication skills and exceptional conflict resolution skills built from years of experience working with the marginalized communities of Northern Kenya.
Latif is currently pursuing his Masters degree at Jomo Kenyatta University in Project Planning and has certification on Management Strategies for People and Resources as well as in Leadership and Management.
