Gretchen Daily is Bing Professor of Environmental Science at Stanford University and co-founder of the Natural Capital Project. An ecologist by training, Daily’s focus is on harmonizing people and nature by shining a light on their deep interconnections and advancing practical changes in policy and management.
Daily co-founded the Natural Capital Project, an international partnership that aims to integrate the values of natural capital into major decisions. The Natural Capital Platform features new science, global data, practical software tools, and policy-driven demonstrations around the world.
In this effort, Daily works extensively with private landowners, business leaders, and government agencies worldwide.
Daily is a fellow of the US National Academy of Sciences, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the American Philosophical Society, and is a recipient of numerous international prizes.
