Diogo Veríssimo works to improve our ability to influence human behaviors that threaten biodiversity. His work has taken him beyond his native Portugal to Latin America, South Asia and West Africa where he has worked on adapting marketing principles to biodiversity conservation. Diogo is currently a David H. Smith Conservation Research Fellow, working both on the design and impact evaluation of behavior change interventions around topics like human-wildlife coexistence, community-based natural resource management and wildlife trade. He is also the President of the Conservation Marketing Working Group of the Society for Conservation Biology.
